Oat & Date Slice

This super easy date and oat slice was a big hit with our Bach tamariki. Quick to whip up under time pressure and a great healthy choice!


  • 2 cups dates – roughly chopped
  • 2 cups oats
  • 2 tbspn honey
  • 1 tbspn vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup water


  • Place a pot on the stove on medium heat and add dates and water. Stiring until you achieve a thick conistency.
  • Add all other ingredients and stir until well combined (add more water add required if the mixture is too thick).
  • Pour mixture into a slice tray of choice and leave to set. You can place it in the fridge to set if you’re looking for a harder consistency.
